PET GUNDOG TRAINING CLASSES
Embracing the Pet Gundog™ ethos and being an Accredited Instructor, enables me to guide my clients to have an understanding of the dogs breed and what it was bred to do which in turn leads to how best to motivate the dog and gain success. All training is age appropriate, the courses are planned around the dogs age and ability. This is to ensure that you do not damage your dogs joints and growth plates in order to help prevent long term conditions in later life.
Our Gundog classes offered are structured and set in stages. This guides you through the different levels, which are certificated. Throughout each level, handlers will learn about:-
- Dog psychology – the way that it learns and what motivates it.
- The dogs anatomy – how this impacts on your training and why it is important to structure age related exercises.
- Body language and how dogs communicate with each other and humans.
- Age related training.
PUPPY COURSE
Covering how to care for your puppy, learning life skills, good manners and socialisation in the environment.
BEGINNER COURSE
Setting the foundations for basic commands.
NOVICE COURSE
Working on improving your foundation skills.
INTERMEDIATE COURSE
Further improving the skills and introducing more advanced techniques
ADVANCED COURSE
Working in different environments and locations. Introducing your dog to the shooting environment.
1 TO 1 TRAINING
Available for bespoke training exercises and handling techniques or working on problem areas.
PET DOG TRAINING CLASSES
As an Accredited, Trained for Life ® Instructor, our Pet Training Classes are tailored for all breeds and abilities, covering basic obedience training and life skills for your pet dog.
The aim is to achieve a well balanced pet, that you are proud to take anywhere and enjoy the company of. Therefore the bond that is generated from the positive and kind approach to training will result in a well balanced pet at home that understands self control, steadiness and good manners. Is a pleasure to walk on a loose lead and sociable with both humans and other dogs.
LEVEL 1 – Designed to set the foundations.
LEVEL 2 – Running on from Level 1 and taking you through the next level of training with an adolescent dog.
LEVEL 3 – Takes you and your pet dog to a level where you would be proficient in on and off lead exercises and have gained a great relationship and bond with your pet.
1:1 Training sessions are available. This would allow you to focus on areas that you may need a little more help with.
SCENT DETECTION TRAINING
We at three Counties Scent Detection are City and Guilds Scent Detection Instructors providing an excellent learning environment where the dog and owner can become proficient at scent detection.
Scent detection is a great way to work and bond with dogs of all ages and breeds. Together you will learn how to ignite your dogs seeking system, every breed has this ability as they would use this to forage for food. This activity can be a fabulous activity for older, retired dogs as well as younger dogs, as it is not as physically demanding but is mentally stimulating.
Scent Detection Workshops will comprise of teaching your dog to discriminate between different smells, work on handler skills and interaction with your dog by using reward based training methods.
